Promoting Your Business Blog
Many say that having a blog on your site is an excellent way of attracting traffic to your site.
So you decided to install a blog and posted new articles on a regular basis.
Now, the question is, how exactly is this going to help you attract all this traffic?
There isn’t any secret when traffic to your blog is concerned.
A blog is a CMS, a content management system.
You enter content the system creates pages.
The pages on your blog aren’t different from pages on the rest of your site as far as the search engines are concerned.
It’s a myth that search engines prefer blogs above standard websites.
As they say, a page is a page and content is content!
The only difference is the ease in which you can add fresh content.
Where a blog does indeed excel as a generator of traffic is that it is not solely reliant on search engines for its traffic.
A blog doesn’t wait for search engines to come and read it.
It has a unique way of reaching out and telling others that there is something new and fresh to be read and that is the RSS feed.
RSS is a type of web feed which allows users to access updates to online content in a standardized, computer-readable format. These feeds can, for example, allow a user to keep track of many different websites in a single news aggregator. The news aggregator will automatically check the RSS feed for new content.
By submitting your RSS feed to directories and making it available on the blog itself for individuals to subscribe to, you ensure that new posts get noticed by a broad audience everything you add something new.
If you can take a day or two out to make the rounds off all of the RSS and Blog directories.
When the results of your efforts kick in you will be pleased.
Seeing your posts starting to turn into instant traffic magnets.
You can promote your blog directly by adding it to your email and forum signatures.
Mention it in the author bio of your web articles and publish the link on your main website.
Take your RSS feed over to Feedburner.com and have it converted into a little-animated billboard that you can publish wherever you want people to be able to read your most recent blog headlines.
One way to attract blog traffic is to take some time to post comments on other people’s blogs.
Don’t turn into a blog spammer by any means.
