When we’re invested with our efforts at reaching these smaller milestones every day, this motivates us even further towards achieving larger long-term objectives/goals because there’ll always something tangible and achievable happening right now just.

Set specific SMART Goals: Specific- Be clear by naming which areas need improvement; Make sure they are measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound.

B. Set a timeline for the goal.

Setting a timeline is important because it allows you to track your progress and adjust as needed.

Setting a timeline for a goal can help keep us from becoming overwhelmed by our goals. After completing tasks that are unrelated but still important, we may feel frustrated or discouraged when things take longer than expected. But setting timelines will allow those feelings to disappear.

You can measure your progress throughout your journey, even though the speed of progress may disappoint you. You are moving along. And in goal setting, making progress, one baby step at a time, is crucial.

C. Create a plan of action to reach the goal.

Goals are only one part of the equation. Without a plan of action, they are nothing more than a pipe dream. So, what are your plans for the next two months?

– Let’s say I plan to publish a book in six months. My goal is to have written 100,000 words in those six months. That means I need to write 10.000 words in the next 30 days if I want it done before the six-month period is over. And that’s a lot of work! So I’ll have to break those 10.000 words into smaller chunks and aim to write a minimum of 750 words daily. I’ll put that on my daily to-do list and go for it.

D. Get support from others when you need it.

Elaborating on my previous example, I will schedule an evaluation session with my wife for the next two months. I will do this to make sure that I’m still on track, and she can help me out when necessary by reading over what I’ve written so far if there are questions, clarifying anything or giving feedback as needed!
